Thousands all over the Island join 'Hiru Siripa Karunawa'

Hiru Siripa Karunawa organized by Hiru FM commenced early this morning.

Listeners from all over the island joined the pilgrimage which was facilitated by Hiru FM including transportation facilities for devotees from all corners of the country.

The significance of the Hiru Siripa Karunawa this year is that, 6 processions carrying the sacred relics will begin from 6 different locations.

The devotees from Mahiyanganaya are to join the journey from the Mahiyanganaya Raja Maha Viharaya where they'd be travelling through Ududumbara, Hunnasgiriya, Theldeniya, Digana and Kandy en route to Siripada.

Another group of pilgrims join the merit from the Kaluthara Viharaya while devotees from Colombo join the Hiru Siripa Karuwawa near Gangarama Viharaya, Hunupitiya.

A group of disciples from Minuwangoda joins the Hiru Siripa Wandanawa from Minuwangoda RajaMaha Vihara routing via Veyangoda, Nittambuwa, Warakapola, Kegalle, Mawanella passing Kadugannawa.

Pilgrims will also join Hiru Siripa Wandanawa from Embilipitiya area.

Hiru team has organized buses to start from Nikaweratiya and route via Wariyapola, Kurunegala, Mawathagama, Galadegara passing Katugasthota.

All the devotees will meet at Hatton town and continue the virtuous pilgrimage to the Adam’s peak together through Nallathanniya.
